Ensuring a better future for the rail industry as a whole
Education, training and development are important to SIMS, not only to allow us to be at the leading edge of what we do, but also so we can reinforce the rail industry as a whole.
To this end, we never stop investing in our prime resource – people.
We help build careers and ensure our development as a company is directly related to the development of the individuals who work with us. Everyone who works with SIMS is given the opportunity to develop their professional potential and advance their career prospects. Which is one of the reasons why our personnel retention rates are significantly higher than the industry standard.
As well as in-house training, SIMS also offers personnel external courses from carefully selected providers. This helps ensure they have the necessary tools to deliver the high standards our clients have come to expect from SIMS.
Added-Value Apprenticeships
As part of our ongoing drive to address skills shortages in the rail sector and to develop UK railway expertise, SIMS also provides opportunities for young people to enter the industry and progress towards installation and testing qualifications.
The two-year SIMS Apprenticeship Scheme allows those who aspire to work in the railway industry to attain the skills and qualifications they need in order to make a positive contribution and also support new rail construction and maintenance of existing networks.
